Record representative PageSpeed Insights or Lighthouse results before changing anything. More importantly, note real user flows: homepage, article, product, cart, checkout, login and any page with custom JavaScript.
Activate before over-tuning
WP Rocket applies a number of behaviors automatically. Let the baseline configuration run first rather than enabling every aggressive option immediately.
Add optimizations one layer at a time
Enable or adjust file optimization, media and preloading settings in stages. After each stage, purge relevant caches and retest both speed and functionality.
Protect critical interactions
Forms, menus, cookie banners, analytics, ads, checkout and logged-in experiences deserve explicit testing when JavaScript is delayed or CSS is altered.
Keep a change log
